What is Unlabelled Unstructured?
Put simply, it’s a peak behind the smoke and mirrors of the Tech industry, more specifically, Data Science, Machine Learning and Startups.
Don’t we all love reading and watching biographies of great people to hear about success stories?
However, these stories can sometimes seem redundant or cliché. This is why we’re here, to invite guests like CEOs of large startups, Data Scientists at FAANG and Machine Learning researchers who have achieved quite a lot in the tech industry to tell us their unfettered stories, inspire us, and open our eyes to knowledge about the industry we can’t find anywhere else.
Meet the Writer
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Jay Ro and I will be the writer of the Unlabelled Unstructured podcast articles for the next few months.
I’m currently a 2nd year student at UWaterloo, studying Honours Computational Mathematics Coop.
I first joined the UWaterloo Data Science Club to learn about some data science and later fell in love with the amazing club environment it had.
I personally love machine learning and mathematics and I am always open to new ideas and opportunities. That’s enough about myself though; let’s meet the hosts of the podcast.
The Hosts
We have not one but two hosts, Jai “Self Proclaimed Veteran Data Scientist” Raghuvanshi and Vedant “what happened to my investment??” Kulkarni. They can sometimes be weird but that’s what makes them unique and interesting to listen to.
Jai Raghuvanshi
Jai (a.k.a. Devejya) is in his 4th year at UWaterloo, studying Honours Physics Coop and Computer Science. Most of his coops have been in the field of Data Science, Machine Learning and Machine Learning Ops in different industries like Finance, Insurance and Research. Currently, he’s trying something new at one of the fastest growing startups in Toronto as a Data Engineer.
Other than that, he’s trying to run our podcast team, teach his younger brother physics and mathematics, and is also taking an upper year physics lab course.
Unfortunately for him, in his free time, he also plays League of Legends, which is a threat to many students (iykyk). Honestly, I would say it’s fairly easy to start a conversation with him. You just have to let him know that you’d be interested in hearing about Machine Learning and Data Science in League of Legends and it will get him going for the next hour or so.
Vedant Kulkarni
Vedant is a 2nd year student at the University of Waterloo, studying Mathematical Finance and Statistics. He just started investing in stocks; if you are like Vedant and are interested in stocks, stay tuned because we are planning to have podcasts about crypto and quant trading!
Last but not least, let me give a shout out to the rest of the podcast team, Gurvick, Cathy, and Victoria, who are working extremely hard behind the scenes!
